Saturday, July 27, 2024 – Stella Maris Academy of Davao Faculty and Staff Lead Tree Planting and Goods Distribution activity in Tawan-Tawan, Baguio District
In the continuous pursuit of Laudato Si and fraternity, the faculty and staff of Stella Maris Academy of Davao gathered in Tawan-Tawan, Baguio District, for a day dedicated to environmental stewardship and outreach activity. This event is the core foundation of the institution’s strategic initiative and its ongoing commitment to action plans and community extension.
Commencing the event with high hopes, participants collectively planted 150 sample seedlings in the said areas. The species of trees planted included Banaba, Bakan, and Anitap. This activity is expected to help neutralize the impact of environmental degradation and promote ecological restoration.
Beyond the tree planting activity, the program also included the distribution of essential supplies to local families. This charitable effort was designed to provide much-needed assistance to community members, highlighting the academy’s dedication to social welfare and being brothers and sisters to others in line with the teachings of St. Candida Maria de Jesus.
The event saw extensive participation from the faculty and staff of Stella Maris Academy, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to fostering a strengthened sense of community involvement. It encouraged all participants to actively contribute to the enhancement of their natural environment and the well-being of the local populace.
